Loki season 2 finale is out now, and according to critics, it might be the greatest Marvel TV episode ever put to the screen. The 10 out of 10 final entry of Phase 5 of the Marvel project titled “Glorious Purpose” closes the chapter of Loki and completely alters the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Without giving away any spoilers, just know that Loki comes to a selfless decision which results in vast implications for the multiverse. In addition to answering major questions, the episode also might hint at what’s to come for Loki and the multiverse.

The episode sees Loki emerge as the new God of Time, taking over where He Who Remains’ left off. The show ends with Loki using his magic to try and save the Marvel multiverse by bringing together various timelines and maintaining their existence. He then takes his place as the new God of Time.

The finale also introduces Yggdrasil, the world tree from Norse mythology, created by Loki. Yggdrasil becomes the new headquarters for the various realms; symbolizing new life after Ragnarök in Norse mythology. The appearance of Yggdrasil may also tease a future threat to the MCU, potentially resulting in a change to the MCU as we know it.

The episode also leaves fans with a question mark regarding the fate of Renslayer. Having been sent to the Void, she is confronted by Alioth. It is also teased. that Renslayer’s past with Kang the Conqueror may be the seed for future storylines. This is supported by the appearance of an Egyptian pyramid in a scene, a reference to one of Kang’s many variations known as Rama-Tut.
