Fitbit Releases Highly-Requested Updates to Mobile App

Listening to user feedback, Fitbit has rolled out an update to its mobile app, introducing some highly-requested features. This update is not a major overhaul, but instead includes quality-of-life changes. The new features include showing the battery percentage of a connected device in the Today tab and extending readout support to Pixel Watches. Additionally, Fitbit is bringing back celebratory animations for hitting step goals and a major milestone, as well as the return of the Steps Streak feature which was taken away in a previous update. The company also mentions that users can customize their focus metrics for specific fitness goals, though this is not a new feature.

The patch is currently being rolled out to all users, with Fitbit urging users to be patient if it doesn’t immediately arrive on their smartphone.

This update comes after Fitbit’s previous app redesign faced backlash from users. The company had promised to make things right with everyone, and this patch is a result of that commitment.
