Fitbit Responds to User Feedback and Announces Big Updates to Address Key Issues

Fitbit recently launched a major redesign of its app, aiming to provide a more modern look and improved functionalities. However, the update received a wave of negative feedback from users, who expressed their dissatisfaction on social media and discussion forums. Many users even demanded a return to the previous design.

Acknowledging the widespread displeasure, Fitbit posted a blog on its community website, stating that they appreciate the feedback and are committed to improving the app. The company expressed gratitude for the suggestions and emphasized that they are reading and listening to every piece of feedback from the user community.

Fitbit has now revealed that it is working on several updates to address the key issues raised by users. The following are the top five concerns highlighted by Fitbit:

1. No battery percentage on Today tab: Fitbit acknowledged the need for users to see their watch or tracker’s battery percentage on the Today tab. In addition to displaying the battery information under “Connected to Fitbit” in the Devices section, Fitbit will also add the battery percentage to the Today tab.

2. Step streak: Fitbit acknowledged the importance of the Step streak feature for iOS users. In response to the outpouring of love for this feature, Fitbit announced that it will bring back Step streaks for iOS users and introduce it for the first time for Android users. Users who have already taken steps towards their streak will have their progress counted.

3. Daily step celebration: Fitbit recognizes that achieving the daily step goal is a significant accomplishment. To mark this achievement, Fitbit will introduce celebrations within the mobile app.

4. Cluttered Today interface: Fitbit is aware that the Today screen can appear cluttered and difficult to read. To address this concern, the company plans to reduce spacing and optimize the layout of the Today screen, making it easier to navigate.

5. Solution for Focus customization: Fitbit aims to provide users with more options to customize the app according to their unique health and fitness journey. Through new focus metrics, users will be able to personalize their Today screen. Fitbit encourages users to explore the customization options and choose focus metrics that suit their preferences.

Additionally, Fitbit mentioned that it is working on other updates based on user feedback, including the highly anticipated dark mode.

Fitbit’s response to user feedback demonstrates the company’s commitment to addressing user concerns and improving the overall app experience. With these upcoming updates, Fitbit aims to regain the trust and satisfaction of its user base, ensuring a better user experience in the future.
