Artifact, the innovative news aggregation platform developed by Instagram’s co-founders, continues to enhance its features with the power of artificial intelligence (AI). On September 13, a new feature called Links was unveiled, enabling users to post links and receive a more personalized feed based on their specific interests. Not stopping there, Artifact also introduced a feature at the recent Code Conference that allows users to create posts, transforming the platform into a space for more than just consuming headlines. Now, the exciting news is that the cofounders have announced the addition of the ability to share recommended places on Artifact.

Initially designed as a platform solely for accessing the latest news, Artifact has expanded its scope by providing users with the opportunity to share their favorite places, including shops, restaurants, bars, and more. By leveraging the existing posting functionality, which already lets users create and share posts and images, Artifact allows users to showcase the locations they love.

Artifact is powered by AI, enabling it to learn users’ interests and deliver relevant information to keep them up-to-date. With the help of AI, the platform provides summarized information for users who have limited time. Moreover, Artifact employs AI to rewrite clickbait headlines, ensuring a more enjoyable and informative user experience.

In addition to the introduction of the ability to share places, Artifact has rolled out other notable features this month. Users can now create images using generative AI and share them alongside their posts, adding a personal touch to their content. Furthermore, the Safari view in Artifact has been enhanced, allowing users to access the AI summaries feature in both the app and the Safari share extension. By navigating to Artifact Settings and then Browser Settings, users can easily toggle this feature.

In an exciting post on Threads, Instagram’s co-founder and former CTO, Mike Krieger, shared the latest updates from Artifact. He revealed, “Two fun new updates today in @artifact_news:
1. You can now share Places into our posts tab; a great way to share your favorite new restaurant or spot.
2. Our new Safari view got superpowers — you can now comment, save for later, and use our AI summaries, either within our app or from our Safari share extension.”

With these continuous enhancements, Artifact is truly shaping up to be a leading platform in the news aggregation space. Its blend of AI-powered innovation and user-centric features sets it apart, providing a unique and engaging experience for users seeking the latest news and more.
